posting without a source is unfortunately pretty common, but it doesn’t have to be. with a few minutes of hunting, you can make sure the artists you like get credit for their work! :) hope this is helpful.

I’d also like to point out that the first result you find isn’t necessarily the actual source. Sites like “weheartit”, “zerochan” or “9gag” are almost always reposts and not posted by the actual creator. However, they will sometimes have a link to the real source!
Google Image Search also doesn’t always work well for artwork of Japanese origins. Saucenao is a site that works primarily with Japanese art sites like pixiv; so if you think your mystery fanart might be from there and/or GIS doesn’t work, try this:
