Normally I fucking HATE peta, but this is bullshit….
While I’m normally neutral about peta… I strongly agree with this. Herps aren’t easy to care for and should NOT be bought because of a movie ><
PetSmart is currently offering customers a $10 discount on any reptile in the store if they present their ticket stubs from Rango, a film primarily marketed to children.
An estimated 90 percent of all wild-caught reptiles die within the first year of captivity. It might be easy for moviegoers to impulsively purchase these animals as “pets,” but very few have the knowledge (or equipment) required to meet the animals’ specialized needs or the commitment to provide many years of care.
Animals aren’t trinkets to be bought and sold—they’re unique, demanding individuals who deserve more than a cheap price tag. We know that you care about animals—so we’re asking you to be the first to raise your voice against this horrible promotion.
